Where is she?

Where is she? I'm 27 and getting further from her each day. My relationships are getting shorter, and all of the 'good ones' are turning into Louis Vuitton handbags. Doc Brown, where's my time machine? So I can go back in time to when being a proper gentleman got you praise and recognition, not to mention a sea of swarming and swooning women all waiting to be caught. 'Nice guys finish last' has become, 'If you don't treat your women like shit or buy them new cars every week, you don't have a chance in hell of finding anyone.' My peers tell me I'm too young to settle down, and that I should play the field for as long as possible. They pretend to know what I mean by nodding when I tell them I'm ready to find my soul mate, fall in love, and settle down. 'You have no idea what I'm feeling. You don't understand. All you care about is how many women you're going to screw next weekend.'

The definition of 'love' seems to have fallen apart, and all anyone cares about now is merely 'security and comfort.' The true meaning of love is vanishing as the years get older, at least down here in Tampa. Hopeless romantics stay away from this city!

my friend, hopeless romantics are a dying breed, anywhere you go in this world. Love has fallen by the wayside as people have embraced well, you said it best "Security and comfort." But I am here to tell you that the mad, passionate ones do exist, and we will find each other someday, mainly because we are incapable of settling. best of luck!

a rare find

You sound wonderful and rare. A good read for you would be Chip Ingram's --Love, Sex and Lasting Relationships-- you seem to desire the real thing. God wants that for you too. Put it in prayer and wait patiently as you walk with Jesus. In lonliness we find solitude, discipline, wisdom, self control. God will Bless you. You sound wonderful and I hope that you can inspire some 30 year olds out there.
