Spring

It's the first day of spring. This used to be a favorite day, marked by silly debauchery and fun, everyone pouring out of their houses and sitting on their patios, playing football in the streets, neighbors gathering for impromptu flip cup tournaments. It also happens to be St. Patrick's day, which used to mean even more fun. And when the two combined... heaven. Today I spent the day in my office; my skin has not seen the sun. Tonight I will not celebrate as all my friends are across the state or farther, and I am fighting off a sickness. Despite the sun and comradery surrounding me, I am more cold and lonely than I've been all winter.
